After two years of pandemic mayhem, the Canberra Writers Festival retuned with a broad and popular line-up of authors whose work and words engaged, informed, challenged, and inspired many.

Damsel and Sprout worked with the festival team to produce 70 live events over a 5 day period with 160 local, national and international writers, journalists, commentators and leading thinkers driving our theme of Power Passion Politics.

The festival saw heading lining talent such as Germaine Greer, Richard Roxburgh, Jane and Jimmy Barnes, Rachel Deloache Williams, Samuel Johnson and former prime minister John Howard grace stages across iconic Canberra venues.

As the Director of the Canberra Writers Festival, I have worked with Damsel and Sprout for several years and they continue to provide invaluable project management to the Canberra Writers Festival. They are in fact, an integral part of our team. Damsel & Sprout have been responsible for several critical areas of the annual festival and have  been critical in making the Canberra Writers Festival the resounding success that it is.

They have managed ticketing and customer service, ensuring that our attendees have a smooth and enjoyable experience. They have also managed author travel and accommodation, coordinating with authors from around Australia to ensure they arrive at the Festival on time and ready to participate in their events. They have played a crucial role in managing our Festival’s social media presence. They create and execute social media strategies that have helped us reach a broader audience as well as targeted incentives to further engage with our followers.
Damsel & Sprout assist with our 150-strong volunteer program. They form part of the 4 session briefings to ensure our volunteers are knowledgeable and prepared to handle any situation that  may arise during the festival. 

Damsel & Sprout also liaise with all of our festival venue partners, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that everyone is on the same page.    The team has been invaluable in assisting me with various tasks that are required to run a successful event. They have been able to handle anything that comes their way, no matter how big or
small, and always go above and beyond what is expected.
