The brief?

Canberra Writers Festival engaged Damsel & Sprout to manage 3 of the venues over the period of the festival.

The Festival was spread across some of the National Capital’s most iconic venues, including vibrant national institutions like the National Library of Australia, Australian National University, National Museum of Australia, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, the National Portrait Gallery and the National Press Club of Australia. Over the period of the Canberra Writers Festival, Damsel & Sprout took over as Venue Managers of The National Library of Australia, National Museum of Australia and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House.

We worked with all the venues to make sure the festival ran smoothly at each location, we managed all onsite volunteers and made sure they knew their roles through morning briefings and training, along with liaising with venue staff and artists. With over 100 sessions running throughout the venues, everyone working needed to be on top of their tasks.
