Amazon: ACCI Business Leaders’ Summit
The agency brought the brand. We knew the building.
Amazon sponsored the ACCI Business Leaders’ Summit at Australian Parliament House, as part of its Sellers in Your Community program putting Australian small businesses in front of a room of business and government leaders. Sense held the brand and the activations. What the job needed on top of that was somebody who could move it all through Parliament House and make the building a non-issue.
Damsel and Sprout came on as the onsite production and logistics partner, for the second time with Sense this year. Freight received and checked days ahead, stored over the weekend, built into Queen’s Terrace on the Monday evening, stripped and relocated overnight, then rebuilt from six the next morning across the Summit Foyer, Mural Hall & Great Hall. Five rooms, two days, one crew.

One hour to turn a café into a reception
Queen’s Terrace is a working café until it is not. Doors for the Amazon welcome reception were fixed, and the formal bump-in window in front of them was an hour. Into that hour went a wall of large-format lightboxes, each one a job on its own to assemble, plus display cubes, plinths, banners, product for five sellers and eight styled cocktail tables. It went in because the sequence had been worked out long before anyone picked anything up.
The freight lands on Friday
Parliament House takes deliveries on weekdays only, inside office hours, one vehicle through the security barrier at a time. An event on Monday evening therefore starts the Friday before. Amazon’s freight was received, checked against the manifest, any damage or shortfall flagged while there was still time to do something about it, then moved into approved storage for the weekend. It is the least glamorous part of the job and the part that decides whether Monday happens.
Same assets, different room, overnight
The reception finished on the Monday night and the displays did not go home. They were stripped, moved and staged for the next day, and the crew was back on site before six on Tuesday morning to rebuild across the Summit Foyer and Mural Hall before the first delegate arrived. Different room, different access, different rules, same pieces, no second set.
Five sellers, five spotlights
The point of all of it was five Australian businesses. Native Secrets, an Indigenous-owned skincare company out of Dubbo. King Brown Pomade from Burleigh Heads. Peak Chocolate, PetzPark and espresso Displays. Each one got a lit spotlight carrying their own words about what reach has meant for them, and roughly four metres of floor in a building where floor is not easy to come by. Built once on Monday, and again on Tuesday.
