Canberra Writers Festival once again engaged Damsel & Sprout, this year as the festivals Artist Liaison.
This saw us coordinating everything that was required by the artist, from travel and accommodation details, to bio’s, headshots, and managing the distribution of authors books to moderators.
The Festival was once again spread across some of the National Capital’s most iconic venues, including vibrant national institutions like the National Library of Australia, Australian National University, National Museum of Australia, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, and the National Press Club of Australia. During the period of the Canberra Writers Festival, Damsel & Sprout took over as Venue Managers of The National Library of Australia, National Museum of Australia and the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House.
We worked with 160 authors and moderators and all the venues to make sure the festival ran smoothly at each location, we managed all onsite volunteers and made sure they knew their roles through morning briefings and training, along with liaising with venue staff and artists. With over 100 sessions running throughout the venues, everyone working needed to be on top of their tasks.
