Damsel & Sprout were contracted by Events ACT to develop and execute a new concept.

Canberra Day In The Suburbs ran over 4 key locations in Canberra.

  • Gungahlin
  • Belconnen
  • Weston Creek
  • Tuggeranong

All sites were identical and activated simultaneously throughout the day. The over arching message for the day was to say thanks to the ESA Volunteers that assisted in the bushfires.

Each location had an Appreciation Station where members of the public could write a card of thanks which were then displayed at Enlighten during the Monday Public Holiday.

Representatives and vehicles from ESA were at each site. local MLA’s and Ministers came to each location to say thanks and cut a large thank you cake.

The local mens shed put on a free BBQ for all visitors.

Moku Music coordinated the stages at each location with community bands and local musicians for that local area preforming through out the day.
